Lights, camera, action as we go behind the scenes with Gary Lineker and BT Sport at Leicester City

It is easy to take for granted live football on our TV screens these days with so many matches covered more extensively than ever before.

But have you ever stopped to wonder how it all happens?

To bring European football action especially to our living rooms, a major amount of work has to go in to every single game – even more than if there was a Premier League match.

BT Sport have exclusive rights to Champions League football in the UK and, for their first time at the King Power Stadium for European football at Leicester City’s game against Porto, they allowed the Mercury a sneak peek at what goes on behind the scenes.

In fact, for the purposes of European games, even the name of the stadium itself has to undergo some change to accommodate UEFA’s separate rules.

Advertising rights are different in European competition, so the King Power Stadium has to be branded as the Leicester City Stadium.
